The Privileged Among Us

Her face. Showed not a flinch. Her eyes not a flash. When I smiled. And warmly chirped, "You must be special, to have those parking privileges." In the fire lane. At the public library. Right in front. In her half ton. Big ass. Pickup truck. Surely. She believes. So thus. Now and into the future. Let us not. Let this specialness. Pass. Unnoticed.

I was behind a lady one time who was talking on a cell phone as she was driving. She kept going over the line, and people kept swerving to get out of her way.

It happened that we were both going to the library, and I went up to her in lobby and told her, "Lady, you are the worst driver I have ever seen in my life." Which was true.

She got all huffy, and said "Well, I'm SORRY!" But I don't think she was at all.
