Halloween

Call me a Halloween grinch. I'm no great lover of holidays. And Halloween? Bah! Humbug! I don't actually answer the door. When I taught school, some of my junior high girl students knocked. And whispered. "Miss Lucia, Miss Lucia, it's us. We know you're in there. We've come to give you candy." And they did.

Wow, that is the coolest thing they did! Sweetening up the Grinch. I have a little secret. While I love this holiday for the very purpose that it kicks off the holiday season, I don't really dig into the trappings of this one. I could do without the pressure to get costumes for the kids and make them 'totally awesome'. I can't believe I just dissed a holiday. I'm going to go wash my mouth out with soap. Ha.

We live down a really long dark driveway, so we NEVER get any of the little beggars.

What a sweet story, literally!

That is so great that you had students who did that. It shows though that you must have been a well-loved teacher.
