Went on a walk today and thought about:
• spray painting my bike some bright color and putting a few fake flowers on the handlebars
• Anne Frank, but only for a minute when I went past her house
• homeless people
• the apple pie smell coming out of the bakery
• that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pink triangle info center for gay and lesbian travelers anywhere else
• that my feet would be happier walking in a new pair of travel shoes, preferably plum
• whether I’m more energized or tired from stopping on the way to where I’m going
• what I’m missing not having time or access to check everybody’s blogs
• needing to spent the night on a plane...again
Oooo... you saw Bruce Cockburn in Amsterdam? How lovely! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteI've seen him a few times over the years - the first time was about 20 years ago and the most recent time was last summer. His most recent cds (Life Short Call Now) is one of my favourites.
Happy Travels!
Is it odd that the term "plum shoes" made me more hungry than "apple pie smell?" ;P
ReplyDeleteWell, we are thoroughly enjoying your entries!

I too am jealous that you saw Bruce Cockburn.
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun to be in Amsterdam ith you. Onward.
Cockburn lives in an old church about 20 minutes north of me (Kingston, On). I kid you not. He bought it form a friend of ours.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, but until I met up with him at a local natural food store, I had no idea how short he is. Of course, I'm 6'3", but I was really taken aback. ;-)
Amsterdam is on our eve-growing list of places to see. Someday ...
Thanks for sharing even tho I have been a slacker and not keeping up so great - looking forward to your Rawanda trip reports!
ReplyDeleteI got stuck on "pistachio ice cream", and through the entire post was licking my lips....
ReplyDeleteDoes the air there smell like clean dirt and flowers? It does in my daydreams....
Good luck with the warm but difficult part of your trip coming up...
